We decided to build a deck this year over a shed.  The shed will come one day.  





It's definitely an improvement over the brick patio that was out there.  No more weeding between the bricks or that strange "flower" bed that took up a lot of space.











Jimmy renovated the powder room as well!






I picked out the stuff and designed it and he put it all together for me.   He did a great job!




He even made this towel rack/shelf and the toilet paper holder

Before I had kids I knew I was supposed to get a 1st Day Photo and a Last Day Photo.  I made sure to not forget that with Caden.  And I'm so glad that I didn't.  This is so crazy to me.  They always are.  He looks so young.   Like a tiny little nugget and then on the right he is a legit child.  I can't get over it.  Love this....

Broken Bones, Inflamed Bursa, Yanked Molar, Snowboarding Accident, Oh MY!

So 2015 has already proven to me that odd numbers really do suck.  This has been a dangerous year for me.  Hopefully I got all of my injuries done and outta the way for the rest of the year!

Just found out today that I won't be needing surgery on my crushed sesamoid bone.   They were thinking it might have gotten to AVN.  Which basically means that no blood was getting to it.   Since it's a floater bone and I have crappy circulation, I was sure that was going to be the outcome.  But according to my MRI's the reason why it hasn't gotten 85% better, is because I also have an inflamed bursa sac near that broken bone.   Usually the treatment for that are cortisone shots.  But I have noticed over a couple of days that it is starting to feel a little better.  I see the doctor tomorrow to find out more.  I will have a shoe insert to help protect that area so I can finally let go of wearing this GIANT boot.  I haven't worn a shoe on that foot since April 3rd.   It's gonna seem weird.  I tried walking today without my boot and I can tell that my foot is really weak.  Could be interesting to see me finally walk in a shoe again.


As most of you know {there is probably only one person who looks at this anyway} I had a root canal done last year.  Turns out, I went to a shady dentist {awesome} and she fractured my tooth.  Apparently she also did a shitty job with the procedure as well and otherwise.  So turned out I needed to have that tooth extracted.  Yay! She said super sarcastically.  I didn't have much pain after the procedure, but today has been pretty painful.  The dentist {new one and a HELL of a lot better} said that I must have a really great immune system, bc there was a lot of infection around the root of that tooth.  Surprised that I wasn't dead.  ha.   That would explain the reasons for me not needing surgery on my crushed sesamoid as well.  Ya healthy immune system!  You rock!   But back to this tooth.  My friggin mouth is killing me right now and I even took some medicine.  I usually just deal with pain and don't medicate.  But I kinda have a feeling that I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Enough of the painful crap!    We, wait, no, Jimmy decided that we should build the deck this summer instead of the shed.  I fully agree.  Now that we have more room in the garage we can hold off on the shed for another year.  I'm super excited about this.  Been trolling Pinterest like crazy.  If you have any good Deck building ideas, send them my way!

Three weeks in a boot.

Are you serious?   I saw a foot specialist, turns out one of my sesamoid bones is crushed.  When that guy came down on my foot, he CRUSHED my bone!  I go back in 3 weeks to get another set of x-rays.  If it looks better I think I can get out of the boot.  If not, probably another 3 weeks. 

He did an ultrasound of it and you could see how swollen the tendons are around the bone.  So the only way it can heal is to immobilize it.  He also said I can wean off the crutches.  I've been doing that and today my foot kinda hurt.  So a little more crutches.   It could also bc from taking the boot off and driving or showering.  Either way, it sucks.

I started to cry at practice today, bc it hurts and I really can't deal with this.  Sorta depressing since I'm a very active person.  Looks like I won't be running the Blossom Race this year.  :(

Well that vacation I took was awesome!  I totally needed some R & R.  Looks like I need it again.  Ha  I sprained my foot.  The metatarsals not the ankle.  So I can't move my big toe without extreme pain.  Just sitting here hurts.  It's really lame.  And I'm over the whole crutches thing.  I also don't like having people do stuff for me and being stuck in the house BLOWS!

It's 10:26 and I haven't had breakfast yet.  But the thought of standing around looking for something to eat doesn't sound appealing.  I also have track practice today....in the rain.  So yay for that!  Trying to figure out what to do with that foot.  BC I think putting on a shoe will be painful but I also don't want to walk around with a plastic bag on my foot.  Again, lame.

We are working on the powder room this week.  I am directing from the couch, "yup!  sounds good."  I ordered the vanity and faucet last night.  So there.  I contributed.  I also got the tile for the floor.

So I can't believe how big the boys are now!  2 & 4 but they look so big!!!   Caden's first year of preschool is almost over!  :(  

We got a new Jeep Wrangler!  Super stoked about that!  Not like it matters, I can't drive for awhile anyway.  :(

The weather is finally starting to feel like Spring.  Some April showers this week and it's trying to warm up a little.

Yay!  I'm going on a well needed vacation!   A little bit of R&R.   This might be the first time I fly anywhere alone, too!  Crazy.  Today's weather is -11º right now, so I'm just happy to get outta here!

Happy 30th Kimbutt!

So I was thinking, wow!  Kim is only a year younger than me!  That's crazy.  Then I really started to think about it and I asked Jimmy how old I was.  OMG.  I legitimately did NOT know how old I was.  I thought I was 31.  If I had to bet money on it, I would have said I was 31.  How do I not know my own age!?!



Last week I went snowboarding.  We had to put down our age to rent the boards.  I was going to write 30 as a {Ha, I'm just kidding}.  But I thought that was dumb so I wrote down my real age......31.  

Then I wanted to prove to Jimmy my age.  So I busted out my TI-82.  "2014, bc I haven't had my birthday yet this year.  Minus 1982...*punch*punch*punch*compute*     equals.....oh shit.  32."


I'm 32.


How the hell, did I not know that?   Then I realized, I didn't want to celebrate my last birthday.  In fact, I don't think we did {strictly under my orders}.  So TECHNICALLY, I never had one.  So in all reality, if so, facto, I am still 31.

According to the old laws of birthdays, if you don't celebrate it, it never happened.  You are still the age of the last one that was recognized.  HA!
